Kristin & Jim

Adrian Wangkham July 24, 2018

As a wedding photographer, one of the best parts of the job is hearing where a love story began.

Kristin and Jim’s marriage has grown from a solid foundation of 10 years of friendship. They share their
love story as one that began when they couldn’t go a day without talking to one another. Followed by a pivotal memory where Jim sang “Stay With Me” by Finch aloud to Kristin, she shares “The best thing about this is that I get to marry my best friend, the person I trust the most and have the most in common with. That's the best feeling!”

It certainly shows.

Their wedding ceremony in Sunset Ridge Barn was one that showed their personality and style. Rustic, simple, beautiful. Shades of grey, blue, ivory and sunflower painted the event. Their shared love of the outdoors coming through as they exchanged vows in a deck overlooking a still, stunning pond. Rain was forecasted, but instead their day showed perfect sunshine.

Kristin’s “first-look” with her father and Jim is one that I will never forget. Everyone was stunned by Kristin in her beautiful dress.

The gestures of love continued throughout the evening with a memory table to honor their loved ones who were unable to attend. Kristin shared a father-daughter dance with her step-father, inviting all the father-daughter duos to join them. Laughter, light, love filled the dance floor at that point and the
emotion could be felt all around. The perfect evening was finished with S’mores and nonstop dancing from all the guests. It was truly an incredible memory and so true to who Jim and Kristin are as friends and now husband and wife.

Wishing them many years of happiness and lots of Iowa Hawkeye tailgating!

Lucky in love

Adrian Wangkham April 15, 2018

Four years ago a little Irish luck brought them together, but it’s through communication and connection that their love has continued to grow.

Caitlyn and Kyle were married on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 2018, at the Scottish Rite Consistory in Des Moines, Iowa, surrounded by their beloved family and friends.

The day began with a bride so stunning and so calm. Though there was no shortage of excitement and eagerness, Caitlyn’s relaxed playfulness shined through in the early part of the day, sharing laughs with those closest to her while getting ready.

Stepping into her dress, emotions took over and she emitted such beauty, elegance, and a sheer appreciation to be Kyle’s bride.

The fun and playful attitude carried throughout the day as they shared loving gazes during the first look, and Kyle worked hard to keep Caitlyn warm amidst the sprinkling rain. Their bond and gratitude for one another was palpable.

Romantic, traditional and so full of emotion, their ceremony was one to be treasured.
Through their shared interest of viewing live music and all things modern country, their reception was thoughtfully planned and became one of joy and hilarity. Laughter and giddiness filled the banquet room as the dance floor filled with all their loved ones.

An unforgettable day.

Here’s to continued love and Irish luck for this beautiful couple.
